Downtown Murfreesboro children's boutique invites shoppers to give back on October 24, with both in-store and online purchases supporting local children in need.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (October 19, 2026) — Cotton + Cradle, a locally owned children's boutique in downtown Murfreesboro, is giving shoppers an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of local children. On Saturday, October 24, the boutique will donate 10% of all in-store and online sales to Candle Wishes, a Rutherford County nonprofit dedicated to bringing joy to children in need through birthday celebrations, gifts, and essential necessities.

Founded in 2002, Candle Wishes is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus Christ by bringing joy, hope, and encouragement to children in need. Guided by its Christian mission, Candle Wishes works alongside local businesses, churches, volunteers, and community members to ensure that children facing financial hardships have the opportunity to experience the excitement of their birthdays. The organization serves approximately 700 children annually in Rutherford County, providing birthday gifts, clothing, and celebrations that help children feel loved, valued, and remembered.

For Cotton + Cradle owner MaryGrace Robinson, the initiative reflects one of the core values behind opening the boutique: creating a business that not only serves local families but also gives back to the community.

"One of our biggest goals when opening Cotton + Cradle was to create something that could make a positive impact in our community," said MaryGrace Robinson, owner of Cotton + Cradle. "As parents ourselves, we believe every child deserves to feel special and celebrated, especially on their birthday. Candle Wishes does an incredible job of making that happen for children right here in Rutherford County, and we're excited to support their mission."

Located just off the historic Murfreesboro Public Square, Cotton + Cradle offers a thoughtfully curated selection of clothing, accessories, toys, and gifts for babies and young children. The boutique opened its doors in 2026 with a mission to provide local families with quality children's products, a welcoming shopping experience, and a business rooted in community involvement.

Saturday's fundraiser offers shoppers a simple way to support two local organizations at once. Whether shopping in person at the downtown Murfreesboro boutique or online at cottonandcradle.com, 10% of every purchase made on October 24 will benefit Candle Wishes. Customers who cannot visit the store can participate from anywhere by placing an order online.
